Philippines new Foreign Affairs Secretary: Hon. Albert Del Rosario

He is an Exemplary diplomat, a gentleman, low-key, suave and highly intelligent, humble and unimposing community mover and a great human. He is loved by one and all.

He takes over the post of Hon. Alberto Romulo, who served from 2004 till this year of 2011.

HON. ADR served as the Philippines Ambassador to the United States for five years, from 2001-2006.

His recent action is so admirable. He with two diplomats is said to have led a risky a 55-vehicle convoy to Libya from neighboring Tunisia, successfully extricating 400 Filipino workers from the embattled capital of Tripoli. The government has noted Del Rosario’s selfless act of heroism towards our modern day hero themselves.

As a backgrounder, in recognition of his diplomatic achievements, Ambassador Del Rosario was awarded the Order of Sikatuna, Rank of Datu, by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in 2004.  The Ambassador is also a recipient of the EDSA II Presidential Heroes Award for fostering Philippine Democracy, and the Philippine Army Award from President Corazon Aquino for his
accomplishments as Chairman of the Makati Foundation for Education.

The Indian community looks forward to working with you especially on the opening of “Visa on Arrival” for Indian nationals wishing to enter the Philippines.

Congratulations, Sir.
